InfoChannel

The basic application of the InfoChannel Suite is an Internet browser. It is fully compatible with the most popular program of this type, MS Internet Explorer Version 7.0. The program was designed and adjusted to co-operate with touch-sensitive devices, but it may also be installed in a computer and operated with a standard keyboard, mouse, or other input devices. Infochannel is an ideal solution whenever it is necessary to provide safe access to the Internet in public places. Thanks to the page-magnifying function in the browser, even the handicapped can use the Internet without any problem.

The itConfig configuration program is joined to InfoChannel. This program enables work parameters to be set for the browser, filters, screen saver, virtual keyboard, electronic mail, sound reproduction, program work monitoring system, restarts, program logging parameters, and statistics generation.

The most important characteristics of the program:

• contains a module for filtering accessible and forbidden Internet pages,
• provides the possibility to set a home page and define a time to return to it,
• provides the possibility to browse Internet sites both on-line and off-line,
• possesses all the necessary navigational buttons,
• the outlook of the browser and all its elements (function keys, background, etc.) is definable and may be adapted to the customer’s needs,
• enables printing of web pages,
• the e-mail module is integrated with the browser, which enables emails to be sent from the InfoChannel program,
• the browser can work in two modes:
  • one-window mode: new windows are blocked or opened in the same window,
  • multi-window mode: more than one window can be opened at the same time; choice of an active window using tabs,
• possesses a function to monitor opening of outside windows (including information about errors) and their closing,
• a virtual keyboard is integrated with the browser, which enables easy entering of information directly on the screen,
• the Internet page-magnifying function allows the touch screen to also be used on pages with small fonts, footnotes, and soft keys without having to reconstruct the page.
